newone, most pharmacies I've had anything to do with supply a medicine every 30 days regardless of how long the month is.

Taking Copaxone every other day would give you more Copaxone than you'd get taking it 3 times a week--every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for instance. I'm pretty sure you'd be expected to take Copaxone on the same 3 days every week.

Yes, but if the dosage is 40mg versus the daily 20mg, why wouldn't you take it every other day? I thought the dosage amount was the reason for the problems with getting approval?

The three-times-a-week 40mg Copaxone has been described as "a longer-acting version" of the current daily 20mg form.

    20mg every day = 20mg x 365 days = 7300mg of Copaxone taken in a year

    40 mg every other day = 40mg x 182.5 days = 7300mg of Copaxone taken in a year

40mg taken three times a week (for ex., MWF) = 40mg x 157 days [157 Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in 2014] = 6280mg of Copaxone taken in a year

There's a difference in the total amount of Copaxone you'd be getting if you took it every other day compared to three times a week.

You'd end up getting slightly less Copaxone overall with the new dosage of 40mg 3 times a week than if you took the 20mg daily dosage or 40mg every other day.

They've tested this and found that this new dosage is just as effective even though you end up getting slightly less Copaxone.

Wonder if they'll reduce the price? After all, they'll be producing and shipping fewer syringes, won't they?
