i still remember seeing an older woman in a kayak at the lake we go to sometimes. was i ever surpeised later to read an article in newspaper with picture of her going down the Mississippi from top to bottom in her kayak.

and here all i wanted to do for the longest is to see where the miss. entered the ocean, lol. haven't got to yet. i did however get to see where the AR river starts in CO. required some walking but it was in 08 and i pushed myself with all the excitement just from seeing parts of that beautiful state. i don't know but if i would chose that same state to g back to buyt of course i'd love to see mt rushmore, and places like that

grand canyone i literally just drove by and hubby took me to look down one spot and i did see lightning strike down a canyon. just more beautiful than a picture that was on the state map at the time. awesome. of course i did not see any of the 10,000 lakes in MN when i went to mayo clinic either.
fair statement to say hubby does not like to travel. he did however take my mother with us to calif on one trip way back when we were 1st married a few years. that counted big and i later was sorta sorry we spent all the time at relatives and none sightseeing. what a long trip and i enjoyed all of it even the exhausting trip back when we had to go without sleep and push to get back intime for work. ah youth, lol.

aw now i do recall the reason, we did see thethose monster carlsbad caverns and from there we were late.

Mount Rushmore is awesome! Years before I went there my neighbor went to Rushmore and brought me a t-shirt with the rear ends & legs of 4 guys and the caption was "I think we are somewhere behind Mount Rushmore!"
Hank & I were at the Grand Canyon, but Hank had been there several times and he didn't want to see it again. If I could, I'd go again.

Last Thursday was "doctor day" in Neenah. After we humored him for a while Kathy, Val & I headed for shopping Gordman's Goodwill, eating at the Asian place, then Kohl's, On the way home stopped in a Green Bay Casino to lose a few bucks, We got back about 12:30 in the morning. On Friday the neighbor invited us for a home made fishfry. They prepared fish the had caught in the river here, On Saturday we went garummaging. In the evening we went for Prime RibB it was a roast!!!!!!!!! I am still making sandwiches from the amount I brought home. This evening (Monday) two of my brothers came for supper of brisket, potato salad and corn on the cob. Afterward the two brothers , a sister-in-law and I played Murder.

I forget to mention that we also went to the stage production of "The Sound of Music" at a local theater on Sunday afternoon.

I also called Hank, but he could not understand what I was saying so the nurse told him that I had called and that I love him for me.

K & I went on th river kayaking Wednesday afternoon. On Friday we had a mega day of garummaging I could hardly move by the time we got done. I was tempted to buy a car top carrier to strap on the tonneau cover of the truck to increase what I could haul back to Texas. I decided against it. Later the 3 of us went to a local bar for a WI Fish Fry

I helped my sister, V, to get on Facebook. She is NOT computer literate at all!!!! My sisters work at the same factory and we all went to their company picnic.

Packer training camp is in full swing. The players ride kid's bikes from the locker room to the practice field. It's a big thrill for the kids to have a player ride their bike. It's about a distance of 2 -3 blocks. I don't know if any other team has a tradition such as this.

My sister K, and brother P & I went on a kayaking run from the Moose Lodge to Cox's Landing. K said it would take about 3 hours to complete and it took about an hour and 45 minutes. The river was high and we had a tailwind.........or we are just so in shape!! Yeah, right.......

On the 3rd V, K and I went to the Waterfromt Festival, a huge event here. The Moose Lodge was selling Elephant Ears and this was the first time I had one, very good! The fireworks started shortly after 9:30. Impressive display as it always is during the Festival. We were going to get a cone at McD's drive through, but their ice cream machine was shut down, so we had some Kemp's Black Jack Cherry at the cabin, which I had in the freezer. On Sunday was the parade. We get chicken ar KFC and ate it at our seats before the parade starts. On Monday I invites K and her husband, P and his wife to a meal of brisket, potato salad and corn on the cob. Followed with a store-bought Peach pie & ice cream.

I started a painting project here, I offered to repaint the garage door here as the paint is peeling bad. I spent part of Tuesday afternoon scraping off the old paint. We had a thunderstorm last night so I won't be able to paint today.
I want to get some blue painter's tape before I start because R got two colors for the door and it's easier taping off between the two colors. And I'm a tad messy when trying to "cut in".
