Default Good News---- at least for me

I stopped smoking about 2 months ago and have not picked one up since! *applause

Ken doesn't smoke in the house anymore and that does help with my breathing. I can't say it doesn't bother me, but I seldom think of it at all anymore.

I have been struggling with this for quiet awhile, but one day I just wondered why I was struggling so. I couldn't think of 1 thing good to keep me smoking. I thank God for helping me and I know he has. I had some pretty shocking things happen, I won't name them all, but enough to make me put them down.

I want to thank all of you that have given me support all these months and several I've known for many years. Those that came back to this forum to encourage all of us that wanted to quit. You guys will never know how much support it's been to me.

Well, just wanted to share the good news, at least it is for me. Just sorry I didn't do it sooner.

Thank you all and I love each and every one of you!! Julia aka Jo6

Question: Why can't I post links or pictures?
Question: Why can't I have a signature, avatar, or profile picture?
Question: What's wrong with my account?

Answer: You are in the "registered users" user group. This group is very limited in what it can do. This will annoy spammers to no end Just keep posting once you have been registered for 30 days and have made 11 posts your account will be "unlocked".

It's really easy to put someone on ignore and it's strongly recommended that you do so with people who's posts you don't like.

    Step 1 - log in
Step 2 - click on the "settings" link
Step 3 - click on the "edit ignore list" link on the left side of the screen
Step 4 - type (or paste if you copied and pasted it) the username of the person you want to ignore
Step 5 - click the "ok" button on the right of the screen

Easy peasy and will lower your blood pressure. One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. It's an oversight on the developers part and it's not an easy thing to "fix." So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.

Alternatively when you click on a person's name and view their profile page, underneath their avatar, there is a option that says, "Ignore this person". Click that link and then click the yes button.

hi everybody Here were are into August! I'm still smokeless. Not much problem for me. So many of those days spent in hospital, some of those in ICU, not knowing who I was or much of anything.

Well, I'm on the road to getting better. Stoll get tired so easy. I love you all and hope all that are trying to lay down those cigs. will be -------------

Will come back and finish later. I am very tired. my love to all, Julia

i sure miss getting online and seeing who all is here. bad summer this year for us as i too had to spend some time in hospital. but i am home now and trying to regain my strength as well. i'd like to blame it all on hospital food, lol, but after i thought about it, i ordered chicken every day. yup because with the names they gave the dishes, it sounded good. but it all looked like sliced chicken with gravy, lol. which it was indeed. why didn't they just say that is what i'm wondering. so needless to say, i lost some weight. but the biggest problem is strength lost. hang in there as we got to get better and hope folks are online more once school, starts and summer is over.

Daily Joy, it does look like the 2 of us are racing around trying to see who can feel the worst!!

Not really, but we do seem to be doing about the same all around. Here are many for you and everybody that is trying to stop smoking.

Everybody has been so supporting. That does help. I hope Ken will stop, but he still doesn't smoke in the house. I don't nag him but I can tell he is bothered every time he goes out that door. I just wish him well.

Thanks to all that have helped me along this road.. to all of you and my love!!

still trying to read all new posts before i am computerless. i always am happy when i know of anyone who beats that old smoke demon. i know it is hard as my daddy smoked. best thing a person can do for themself, or one of them. son finally quit but daughter will never i fear. she'd buy cigs even before food. give her a cola and a cig and she is set for they day . i hope i do not have to see her in condition i did my dad.
