Default The mysterious case of the missing smilies

    Howdy folks

Somehow or another a group of smilies have gone a.w.o.l. on us and I don't know why. I've replaced a couple that were brought to my attention, but there is no master list so I don't know right now if there are others missing. If you notice a smilie missing please reply here and let us know which ones are missing so I can find them and bring them back.
Question: Why can't I post links or pictures?
Question: Why can't I have a signature, avatar, or profile picture?
Question: What's wrong with my account?

Answer: You are in the "registered users" user group. This group is very limited in what it can do. This will annoy spammers to no end Just keep posting once you have been registered for 30 days and have made 11 posts your account will be "unlocked".

It's really easy to put someone on ignore and it's strongly recommended that you do so with people who's posts you don't like.

    Step 1 - log in
Step 2 - click on the "settings" link
Step 3 - click on the "edit ignore list" link on the left side of the screen
Step 4 - type (or paste if you copied and pasted it) the username of the person you want to ignore
Step 5 - click the "ok" button on the right of the screen

Easy peasy and will lower your blood pressure. One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. It's an oversight on the developers part and it's not an easy thing to "fix." So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.

Alternatively when you click on a person's name and view their profile page, underneath their avatar, there is a option that says, "Ignore this person". Click that link and then click the yes button.

    Hi Jeannie :)

The only problem with that link, is it only shows the working smilies. It can't show the ones that aren't working or went a.w.o.l. on us

    okay, mike...

i looked through the list and i remember a lot of the old chatroom smilies and they are there. i don't see *bulb or *lightbulb, which i know was part of that list. there might have been a *christmastree. there was a huge black , cause i remember using that frequently in the chatroom . i know all the angel smilies are there. i'm not sure of the new ones, the seasonal smilies or the calvin smilies.

in other news , i can't log out! i click log off, close the website and the browser. when i click back to get on the website, i come to the forums page and i am signed in already. this is happening on both my IE and mozilla browsers. this just started happening today.

thanks for working so tirelessly on these probs !

    jeannie

it's weird, but when i hit clicked to post this, the place where i had posted * spider (which i had written as one word), after the words "huge black" was blank, then there was a red "X" there and now it's blank...i think...i won't know until i click "save".
