What Mac Book/laptop is Best For Me?

OK, sick of Dell sick of MSoft. Leaving them in the dust for a Mac laptop/book. So tell me which one to get. Just for personal use, doesn't have to be fancy.

You Mac users and lovers...help me get the best one for the money for me..a retired casual user, who just wants a reliable uncomplicated computer access to everywhere I want to go or do?

    Thank You!!
    Love, Sally

Hi Sally. Wish I could help you, but sorry, I don't have a clue.
I do have something in common with you though. I hate DEll and I hate Microsoft. Maybe some one will pop in and let you know what to get, then I will nag Mr.Jo to get me one.
Good luck and hope you find something good.

    take care, Jo s

I'm afraid I won't be of much help either I have no experience with Macs.
Question: Why can't I post links or pictures?
Question: Why can't I have a signature, avatar, or profile picture?
Question: What's wrong with my account?

Answer: You are in the "registered users" user group. This group is very limited in what it can do. This will annoy spammers to no end Just keep posting once you have been registered for 30 days and have made 11 posts your account will be "unlocked".

It's really easy to put someone on ignore and it's strongly recommended that you do so with people who's posts you don't like.

      Step 1 - log in
Step 2 - click on the "settings" link
Step 3 - click on the "edit ignore list" link on the left side of the screen
Step 4 - type (or paste if you copied and pasted it) the username of the person you want to ignore
Step 5 - click the "ok" button on the right of the screen

Easy peasy and will lower your blood pressure. One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. It's an oversight on the developers part and it's not an easy thing to "fix." So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.

Alternatively when you click on a person's name and view their profile page, underneath their avatar, there is a option that says, "Ignore this person". Click that link and then click the yes button.

Sally , I love my IPad it does every thing a laptop can do and more, you can use a key board if you want or just do a tap on screen keyboard, I do both. I can take it from room to room, take pictures, send text messages to other people who have I phones, IPads, IPods I have the IPad 2 and really enjoy it ,
        Good luck, GING

Sally, I have an iMac Desktop, and an iPad. My daughter has the Macbook Pro. But there is a Macbook Air. I agree with Ging, you can do just about everything with an iPad and it does have a built in keyboard or you can buy a small keyboard. I only use my iPad if out and about and my Desktop at home. We love them! I would suggest you go to the Apple Store online and browse to see what might fit your needs. I don't mind Microsoft at all. But when my husband brought home the iMac, I fell in love...found it to be so much easier that I felt I was doing something wrong. :)

            Thanks all!!

Mike, I hope I and my Apple will still be welcome here.

Kathy, I purchased a MacbookAir, I should have it Monday. It had marvelous reviews for a regular computer user like me.

I'd like to know what you think about your new Macbook after a month or so. Always been curious about how easy the transition would be.
