Mom to Jon, 43, (seizure disorder; Gtube; trache; colostomy; osteoporosis; hypothyroid; enlarged prostate; assorted mysteries) and Michael, 32, (intractable seizures; Gtube), who were born with an undiagnosed progressive neuromuscular disease and courageous spirits. Our Angel Michael received his wings in 2003 and now resides in Heaven. Our Angel Jon lives at home with me and Jim, the world's most wonderful dad.
Thanks so much Earth Mother 2 Angels! I am in the path but am doing all I can to be safe. If I lose power I may not be able to get on the forum for a few days though so if I disappear for awhile that is why.

My guess is that quite a few of our members will be absent for awhile, as it certainly appears now that a large swath of the mid Atlantic Coast is powerless. This is one massive storm. Nothing to take lightly. Praying for your safety.

Hi, I am here now, thank you for the prayers. I was in the path but Thank God, nothing major happened, lots of wind and rain to last me for at least 6 months but no lost of power and nothing more than a few trees down and flooding but not in my neighborhood.
Hope everyone else os OK and that whoever is in NY and NJ are safe.
I'm in Rochester, NY, on Lake Ontario. I live right down by the Lake. It was fierce, man!! Terrible wind and rain, and huge 20' high waves. Very scary. A lot of places lost power, but the building I live in was spared, thank G-d. It was a very frightening day and night, but nothing at all like what Down State and New Jersey went through.

We had a lot of wind and rain and some power outages, but nothing compared to others up the coast. I pray all will be safe. As Rose said, please send a note saying you are alive at least.

I agree ~ my heart breaks for everyone, especially those who lost loved ones to the storm.
Last night, my son and I watched the NBC-sponsored fundraising concert, with Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Jon Bon Jovi and others. The interviews with residents, who had lost their homes and all of their mementos, and/or their businesses, brought me to tears. And the pictures of the devastation ~ oh my! It's just unreal. Someone said that it will be rebuilt, but it won't be the same, because Sandy washed away the history of the Jersey Shore. Steven Van Zandt said something to the effect of "the places we used to go are gone."
It's going to take a long time to clean that up and rebuild. I guess we could call Mother Nature a job creator!
