Now Jo it depends on what pics you want to upload. Pics off of your puter or off the internet. For your album or for posts. This is what I have figured out.

    This is for your album.

Go to your profile and down on the left select Add Album. You will create an album then put all your pics in them. So add album and give it a name, description is optional. You can make it private or public where everyone here can see. Save Changes.

Then your page will say on the right Upload Pictures. Hit it and the Upload Manager will pop up. On the far right at the top it says Add Files. Hit it and another box will open up and mid far right it says Basic Uploader. Hit it and a window will open that lets you browse your computer for pictures to upload. The little + sign lets you add more than one at a time. When you hit upload it will go into your album. There is a box above your attachment box that shows all the pictures you have uploaded and posted in threads. You can move these upper pictures to the album box if you want.

Now for posting from the internet to your thread posts. There are a few ways, one is just right click on the pic you want and Save As to a folder on yer puter and upload it from there with the above method.

Click on the pic and then on that pop up menu I select View Image Info and on that little page in the middle it says Location. I right click on that address and select all the address info and then right click again and select copy. Now above our posting text box there are a whole bunch of little icons for editing and such. In the middle towards the right is a picture of a tree in a picture frame next to the blue ball with a red X. If you do not see this let me know and I can tell you how to get it. So select the little picture frame and an Insert Image box will open up. This box gives you the choice of using an internet pic or a puter pic. Select one or the other. For uploading from the puter select the Basic Uploader button, you will do the same thing as the album instructions. Otherwise select From Url and a box will come up that lets you right click on and Paste the picture address you want. Then when you hit okay it will post.

Now I have actually tried to copy and paste pics but they won't post because they are so huge and they freeze up my browser so now I just do it the regular way.

If you use the uploader they all come out one size and by simply clicking on it will pop up a bigger version. Another click and it is gone.

I hope this makes sense to you lol and whoever else happens to peek. Now I am sure Mike will come along and give me the magic formula to make it easier lol

    Default R.T. where are you?

How are you and Frisky doing? As best you can, I hope.

I ask you about the album and you asked me where and I haven't been around much since then, but I see dear Christina has left instructions for us. I will print them out cause my brain is lacking also.

The Album feature is underneath your profile. when you go to profile you will see it. You may have already figured that out. How dumb of me not to look before I start right in telling you where it is.

When I get thru here I will go check your profile and see if Frisky is there. If you haven't posted any pictures and you want to maybe we can learn together.

I've got a feeling you know all about binary & I am the one with a tatered brain.

So, you take care and when you feel up to it write me another "Random Thought".

    Default Wandered back in...

    Oh...Hi,

I had wandered off, got distracted and forgot to wander back in.

Recently I had some success with repairing a failed laptop. It wasn't as dead as a doorknob because at least the lights briefly flickered when one attempted to boot it up (I've never seen a doorknob do that). I googled both the model number and the symptoms and found a bizarre procedure that might fix it....involving a torch.

Sure enough, after dismantling the unit I heated the graphics processing unit with a butane powered torch with the intent of achieving a temperature of 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Much like baking some brownies I allowed it to cool on the kitchen counter prior to serving.

When I had reassembled the whole thing and pressed the power button...

    It booted right up !

I was so giddy with delight that I spent the next few days bending the ear of anyone who got closed enough to listen to the story of my exploits.

and now, you too have been "subjected".

Now I'll go look for my album, maybe even add a photo...

    best regards
    Brian

Wow! A torch? Who knew. Congratulations on your most recent foray into the world of temperamental electronics. Ya know I once....well, replaced a screen in a DSI, I had to solder and everything. Got the intructions off of Instructables .

Oh and are those chickens yours or just a pic?

    Hi RT,

I saw this forum light up in "New Posts" & figured there must be some mistake. I'm only half-way there w/ computers, but I used to be good in math -- almost majored in it [what a geeky thing to admit. ] So I love your binary joke! Hope to see you around more.

    Wow,

soldering a DSI sounds rewarding. That is essentially what I was doing, re-soldering the video chip back into the motherboard.

I replaced the lcd on the back of a camera following a step by step off of you-tube...totally worked...like getting a new nikon for $18 !

Those were my neighbor's "free range" chickens in my yard. We later convinced some other neighbors to adopt them and provide an enclosed home for them. We had been refering to them as "Neighbor Chickens"...sadly...they may have been my best friends in the neighborhood.

I'm glad you enjoyed that joke. I often enjoy my brother's sense of humor...bad puns.

He is the one who told me: "time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana"

You however might enjoy one of my favorite physics/chemistry jokes:

Two hydrogen atoms were walking down the street chatting when one of them stopped and said, "Wait, wait wait...I've lost my electron!"

The other queried, "Are you sure ?"

    The first asserted, " I'm positive !"

Love that banana joke. Made me snort lol.

A woman called the Canon help desk with a problem with her printer.
The tech asked her if she was "running it under windows."
The woman responded, "No, my desk is next to the door. But that is a good point. The man sitting in the cubicle next to me is under a window and his printer is working fine."

thanks for the instructions, but I haven't tried them yet. Got to get my brain in gear first. all my love, big queenie
