I use the homepage pretty much just to see the "most recent posts" so I like the "most recent posts" it saves my time.

I almost always go directly to my own special interest forum.

Every once in a while I will take a look to see if there are any new forums that address general issues (such as cooking.)

Great input keep it coming ;)

The white space in the middle is "dynamic" meaning it changes depending on how big the columns on the left and/or right get.
Question: Why can't I post links or pictures?
Question: Why can't I have a signature, avatar, or profile picture?
Question: What's wrong with my account?

Answer: You are in the "registered users" user group. This group is very limited in what it can do. This will annoy spammers to no end Just keep posting once you have been registered for 30 days and have made 11 posts your account will be "unlocked".

    hey again, mike,

    thinking some more about this...

maybe you could combine the "new posts" section with the "10 most recent threads" into a hybrid, listing the forum, thread title and a part of a post and call it "voices of braintalk", "what's happenin' at braintalk", or some other catchy title? that gives those that like the recent threads section, want to know what thread and forum to read and want to hear some of the "voices" of bt and what we're discussing all their wishes.

rose's suggestion about a pic is interesting, too. a lot of us put pics up...why not ask for submissions of photographs from bt members that are related to the seasons? i know a lot of us have all kinds of pics stored on our computer's from vacations, etc., that would give you plenty of material to change pics every few weeks.

    still thinking,
    jeannie

The combo you suggested is currently too complicated with this version. The new vB software has something similar to what you're describing, but until they (vB) give us more control over that system I won't be upgrading. I am working on adding the forum to the 10 most recent posts however.

Ok I tweaked the 10 most recent threads to include the forum :) Agate the links you mentioned have always been at the top of the pages, I made sure to copy them over from the archives. I also removed the 2 empty sections (history and future) at least until I can write them up

Oops! I shouldn't even try to discuss what is visible on the screen because my PC has all kinds of special settings on it to enlarge things, and I tend to forget that I'm not always seeing what others are seeing!

Sure enough--I found the Medical Dictionary and PubMed links when I changed my Zoom setting down to 50%. My apologies.

    ((((agate))))

That happens to me too, when I use my Zoom feature. I can see things better, but I also miss things that are out of my monitor's view. Glad you figured it out. I use those links frequently, especially Drug Info.

    Default Past vs. Present

When i was on here much much more, i always went to FF after MS forum. What i liked there was the debating on issues, policies, Mike's quick brain...but you could "duke it out" there rather than on your own health forum.

That was the place to do it, not get it mucked up with your own disease.

I hadn't visited the new Home page until today. I usually just go to my own forum. I had no desire to visit the old one. This one seems more practical and more attractive.

In past incarnations I did on occasion visit the forum on Spirituality and Cultures (both now gone).
