the voters voted for no state run liquor stores

they jacked up prices 25%-they were sure the government made things worse-i cant find the 10 dollar whiskey i buy twice a year only

it was sad to go to WalMart today & see several old men roaming the aisles looking for the liquor! all looked like they'd just left the streets they most likely live on.

I haven't been in a liquor store in many years so this was kinda shocking to me.

and I don't think the voters DID approve this! why would anyone vote to pay more for anything?yes,I admit I'm paranoid but Costco pushed until they got their way!

this world has surely gone crazy! We have lived in this town for 30 something years. We were a "dry" town." Imagine my surprise when I walked into the Dollor Store, about 2 blocks from me found beer everywhere. The gas station across the street also. I had not heard a thing about anybody applying for licsense or a word about the whole thing.

Now, I am not oppose to beer , wine, whiskey or any other alcoholic beverages, but couldn't understand the town passing on such a bill without me knowing it. When I Catered I could not sell these things, only had what I used in cooking. I could serve it if client bought it and asked me to serve it. Strange this town is. I lobbied for sewer system so I could have a dish washer. The store really needed one!

so far the new law in WA state isn't working out too well! we were all lied to of course-nothing new with that. now people are going to other states to buy their booze. no brainer there either.

I know we have some "dry" towns in this state but no idea if that has changed or not?

stupid dust seems to be everywhere!

Clouds, I'm sorry I got off topic with the liquor store business. I am with Pati about the Tanning beds! I was a member of a gym that had a tanning bed. I decided to try them out. Well the first thing I wasn't happy about was "NO SUNSCREAN".

They did not want their beds to have all that greasy oil on their beds. They had something to spray on the beds before and after use to Sanitize them. that was a bunch of bull. I would put the suncrean on before I left the house.

I tried it a time or 2, but I could not lay there and close that lid down. Felt too much like a casket! Much information has come to light about the dangers of tanning beds since I used one. I only tried using one about 3 times.

Kens Mom & Dad both had malignant brown spots, that was turning darker fast. After that they would go to the Dermatoligst((?))at least every 6 months to a year.

Ken and I go now. The Dr. cut a couple of strange colored spots on his face and they came back maliganant. I had some spots, just thought they were age spots, but I went with Ken the next time he went. the Dr. looked at one of mine and said they needed to go, so he cut them off. One of mine was Malignant, the others were just age spots.

Anyway, the both of us go every few months, mine have all been benign, but about half of Kens were malignant. He was in the sunshine for years growing up, helping his mom and Dad both in outside chores then 6 years in Navy he was exposed to a lot of sunshine.

None of the ones the Dr. took off was Melanoma. That is a very fast kind of cancer and it is deadly. Have someone look at the whole body now and then.

If we had ignored the spots or moles it can turn into Melanoma. We are due to go soon and I'm just used to it by now. I go in and ask which one of us is he gonna get that pound of flesh from:) He always takes at least one off me. Same as Ken. Ken has some on face right now that needs to get taken off. I noticed they had started changing.

The Dr. Calls mine the "old woman spots!" ha ha one day I will get back at him! Too much sun is not good for the skin, but wearing long sleeves and a hat will help a lot even if it is cloudy.

Getting so much sun trying to get a Sun Tan makes your skin look like leather. Especially as we are getting older.

So, my advice would be to use some sunscrean, if you'er just going to be in the sun for long and a hat. Get someone to help you look at moles, brown spots that starts changing colors. Simple things, but could cause you grief if not taken care of.

I don't know every thing, but look up "sunscrean" and see what it says and maybe do what it says.

I think I read some place where you had one cut off and it came back ok. that's great. Just keep an eye on things and you'll do just fine.

    take care Clouds, Jo

so glad it wasn't cancerous clouds. my dear aunt had one near her ear on face. had it removed and it came back so she left it and of course died from it. She was old and I can still remember her wearing a "bonnet". I know she tried to cover herself more than most but it still got to her. I nned to make an appointment to see doctor for checkup myself, as soon as I can be on feet more. Good reminders you all.

sorry if i have made remark about aunt before.

My grandfather was a redhead and I remember that he always went outside with a widebrim hat and long sleeves. I know he had a few 'moles' removed and then not long after his stroke he got a terrible melanoma on the bridge of his nose and had it removed but it took months and months to begin to heal.

My son B has a mole next to his ear in his hairline that his doc said needs to be watched.
