im afraid of skin cancer

ive never bought sunscreen--do you put in on even under clothes or just on face?

im blond so more likely to get cancer maybe

spend last 3 months worrying about cancer and spots

ive heard sunscreen can cause cancer

i think the sun turned some brown spot into some blacker spot and hated the look of it and they said get it removed anyway

the woman who likes sunlamps is nuts i think

i dont like riding bikes or jogging much because that leads to skin cancer i think

im ready to move to a cave

I think tanning beds should be banned myself. Clouds,where we live the sun shines so seldom I sure wouldn't stay inside to avoid skin cancer! we need the vitamin D afterall. however to answer your question about sunscreen: I've never heard it causes skin cancer. you need to apply it to any skin exposed,also wear a hat & sunglasses on those rare days we do get sun. the sun rays toda
y are more harmful than what we had as kids growing up. plus if you ever burned as a child you already have a chance of getting skin cancer & there's nothing you can do about the past exposure.

skin cancer isn't the death sentence it used to be. partly cause people are more aware of the signs & because there are new treatments.

don't waste money on poor quality sunscreen. do your research. don't wear very thin cotton shirts. wear long sleeves.

I know I might not be able to ease your anxiety but hopefully you won't stay inside when we do have beautiful sunny days in Western WA!!

Clouds,thanks for the links. I do not trust anything the EPA has to say. and no mention of tanning booths? perhaps IF we have more skin cancer it's because people use tanning booths to get a tan since we rarely have enough sun to get a tan?

also,eastern WA is totally different & they had the entire state colored dark blue. I got my sunburns growing up in the eastern part of the state.

I also find it hard to believe CA wasn't dark blue. all those people enjoying sunshine most every day? just doesn't make sense to me.

forgot to reply earlier to the woman on the news from NJ,to me she looked like a freak with her dark face & think she'll regret it someday.

When I was little my mom would slather on the baby oil with a bit of iodine squirted in and lay on aluminum foil LOLOL. I have done it but prolly not since my late teens and only a couple times.

I have read and heard that your exposure to the sun as a child up to a certain age is what mostly determines what kind of harm will be done and that after a certain age it doesn't make any difference. Unless you go to the tanner every day like my bro's girlfriend. She looks like leather and I know she is only in her mid to late 40s, she dresses like a teen in 80s so there is this weird incongruence that kinda messes with yer head as she is walking towards you. My ex SIL was allowed to get a tanning membership by her husband and then he forced her to go every day until it expired. She signed up for a year and didn't know he was going to be a jerk about it until after, duh he is a jerk about everything. Then he signed her up for the next year and made her go. She wasn't too hot either er....whatever.

Gads! Your ex-SIL is a real dope. Every day for a year? I wonder if he made her go? And she would "follow his orders".

Lor he made her go. They were together for years until he went to prison for participating in a bank robbery. He is out now but she moved out of state and remarried.

Clouds you are in luck because there are houses made inside caves, at least down here where I live. It is really weird and they have almost no elecric bills to pay for heat or air. There was a big write up and they do have a place to rent out. I can't think exactly where it was and will put on my thinking cap, my menieres (ears and vertigo) has been bothering me so I have been sorta out of things. If I can remember more I'll add it.

I hope you just use precautions and get outside and enjoy some sunshine.
