Oh hon how terribly scary for you. I have been there. If I really had a choice I probably would not go out if I didn't have to but I have a child and lots and lots of doc appts. It does seem that the older I get the less I give a crap how I appear to other people.

Have you done any kind of therapy? I am sure that you could find the right therapist, psychiatrist team and they could help you work on that horrible phobia.

Are you afraid of cars period or can you be a passenger? Is driving the only thing you are afraid of?

How long have you been on your med combo?

I was on the same less than a year ago. Managed to come off of my anxiety med but still take something for depression. Am taking Effexor right now. I also take Pamelor for my fibro. It is one of those meds that you really aren't sure if it is working until you stop taking it. Started sleeping like a baby once I hit that perfect med combo.

Hey I have tried to get help but was told I wasnt crazy enough to get help.lol I guess that is good.I can be a passenger in the car but just cant drive.I have been on my med combo for about six months.Umm it does seem to help.
What is Pamelor? I have never heard of it.I do go out me and my dad go out just the two of us once a month.I love to collect Build-a-bears so we go around to goodwills and all looking for them and that helps me not be as nervous because I have my mind on something. But like going to walmart is harder. But it does seem to be getting better. But like if I have to go to a party or something where there is alot of people that I have to interect with I get nervous and upset.Like I am scared I am going to do or say something wrong. If the house I am at has a cat or dog that is friendly and will come to me that helps me ALOT!! I LOVE my three babies.Radar is a chihuahua.Nutz is a lab mix he weighs about 55pounds.Both of these stay inside.Radar will be 8yrs old this year and nutz is 3yrs old.Umm then my other baby is outside she is about 12yrs old.She has always been sweet and loves to be carried but she has got older and it hurts for her to be carried now.

well you are not alone. however it's a shame for you to be feeling like this at such a young age! sometimes you have to fight the system to get what you want/need. don't be willing to accept this as a way of life.

I can sure relate to staying away from Wal-Mart! the lights drive me nuts, not to mention how big the store is & too many people/noise. find smaller places to shop & try to go during odd hours.

there's a solution to every problem, sometimes it just takes awhile to figure it out. and I have a little mantra for you: God helps those that help themselves. try keeping that in mind.

you must get enough sleep! keep pushing for the right med combo.

and pets are wonderful, glad you have some furry friends!

try to think positive. don't let fibro ruin your life.
