My heart just breaks reading about the woman, with her two disabled daughters. I'm writing through tears, seeing that sweet young woman's malnutrition, only able to take thickened water and mashed potatoes. I want to contribute to the CIRA mission to supply her with Ensure or Resource, or even Carnation Instant Breakfast. And she needs liquid vitamins. At the least.
I visited the CIRA website, but I didn't see a button for donations. Do they have a way of receiving donations?
Does CIRA network with other charitable organizations?
If they need wheelchairs, I suggest contacting Free Wheelchair Mission: http://www.freewheelchairmission.org
Perhaps Doctors Without Borders could offer some medical care? It's worth asking. That young woman could get a Gtube then.
At times like these, I wish I was a billionaire. It's just so wrong that a few have so much, while so many have little to nothing. If I had billions, I would do my best to change that.
The people of Cat Island are in my prayers.

Hi Rose and Christina! Rose, thank you for the free wheelchair link - I will definitely pass that along to Uschi! Right now Uschi is self funding the entire operation although sometimes guests at the hotel leave checks to CIRA. I noticed that the brochure asks people to commit to giving (for example) one staple such as rice or beans for one year or six months, but I don't know how that works exactly. I am in touch now with Olive and she and I are going to work on getting a Mum's group started. Thank you for your thoughts and support dear friends! xoDonna

When you find out how it is possible to donate, please let me/us know.
They need a donate button on their website, and they could accept payments through PayPal.
Also, networking with other charities seems to me to be a very good way to get needs met by all parties. They could even contact the producers of Ensure or Resource, explain the situation, and those corporations might donate the nutrition. It never hurts to ask.
Please keep us updated and tell us more about your Mum's Group.
