    Default Warm weather plans?

Spring is pretty much here and I wondered if anyone had any plans for losing weight or trying something different throughout the spring and summer to help get some exercise?

I would definitely like to get outside more. Try and get back on that there bike lol.

Well, I've got to get these 28 extra lbs. off so I can breath better. I'll keep walking away on that treadmill as much as possible. It hurts so bad, but Dr. says it will, but I HAVE to keep doing it. I think I am missing something here.

I love your idea for a garden. I have always planted a garden, even a small one. There is something theriputic (sp) about playing in the dirt!

You can have a very small plot and grow beaucoups of veggie's. I had a great one right after we moved to this house. I planted my pole beans in my corn. I had okra, tomatos, hot peppers, bell peppers, squash, cuks, potato's, I can't remember everything. My corn grew so tall I picked green beans standing up. I had to stand on my tippy toes to bend the okra over to cut it, it was the most productive garden I had ever had. We still had okra and tomato's in December.

Aw, I can still dream. What I would give to have a very small garden. Maybe I will slowly work at my flowers. they need some attention. My irses are blooming and crocus and joniquils and periwinkle is going wild with this warm weather..

So, I should have put this on the garden thread, but if I work some in the yard I should lose some of those lbs.

Thank you lil queenie. you sure are a real workaholic, but hey, can't smoke and garden at the same time, eh?

    I love you dear, B.Queenie

bicycle. let me tell on myself. there I was at walmart and here was this nice 26 inch standard bicycle. not with all those fancy things my last bike had, the gears and all. phooey that just called for more work on my part trying to change those gears.

Well I got on that bike and rode all the way down one isle before i crashed. the walmart man ran over asking if I was ok? duh, hubby said well how is your store, she is the one that rode the bike. anyway later on I was at my daughter in laws and she had the same size bike. and for the life of me I could not get on the darned thing!!

I was so p-oed to say the least. I have been looking at walmart to see if they have left any 24 inch bikes unchsained. but wouldn't you all know it, they have been doing a pretty good job of keeping them all locked down tight lately. and yes with my balance issues, just getting on one is hard but after I do I can't manage to stay as steady as I'd like. I noticed one of the last few times I did try and ride bike that I let my BIG feet on the pedal the wrong way. I should have put foot midway ... instead I had my toes of foot way to close to the fender of front tire. now that was a diaster as well. hubby just wants me to stay off of the dratted things, lol.

Daily Joy, you make me smile. I know the feeling with the bikes. Ken bought me a treadmill. It's really nice, you can do the incline, down hill, speed or go as slow as you want, it is really nice, but it don't do a darn bit of good if I don't get on it and walk. Lazy me!!

I have a hard time trying to diet after all the grief we all went thru with Beth and anorexia/bulimia. I've noticed she has dropped a few #'s and she didn't have any to lose.

I try to deal with all of these things together and it does get the best of me. I love Beth, she is my daughter, but somehow I'm going to have to find a way to put this someplace and pray she will get better before it is to late.

So, treadmill hear I come. Can't handle those bikes that move. lol

i wish i could still walk in the neighborhood. but i know i cannot do any weight bearing exercise, even walking to mailbox sometimes makes hip hurt. i sure did overdo it years ago and am now having to still pay for all the enjoyment i got out of exercising and walking. at least i can still sit in sunshine for a short time and enjoy the sunshine for a time. take care all. dag blasted, i get very determined at times to find something to enjoy, lol. so hope for me that i can stay that determined for whenever i need it.
