Diandra - If you are a chronic pain patient and need any type of benzodiazepine, Alazapram.Lorazapam ( Xanax or Ativan or Valium, be aware that Versed is a benzo's derivative. when I went to Mexico to get my teeth, (whole nother adventure, It took a full barrel of versed. which had no effect. I had been honest with my Anesthesiologist, Hospital certified, I checked, and he could not believe I was not at least sedated - I wasn't - He then gave me another half barrel, sorry I don, know the dosages, but he then gave me a full barrel of Fentanyl, looked at me expecting me to be out. Nope I just looked at him and said, what's up doc? so he gave me another Full barrel of Fentanyl. - still nothing after 1.5 barrels of Versed, 2 barrels of Fentanyl and the he started the THIRD barrel of Fentanyl when I finally went out. I woke up but it took over TWO hours and change to fully wake up to where they could hustle me out of the Office. I am glad the receptionist was a big guy as walking the streets of Mexico at night is not a good idea unescorted. He got me to custums where the (expletive deleted) worker, asked me what I had to declare - this with me bloody as hell - I just dumped my stuff , including the drug store on his counter and motioned I could not speak - he just looked like an (expletive deleted) and told me to get. I made it to the US where the rudest people I have ever met would not let me use their cell phone to call my partner (Expletive Deleted) who did find me. Mexico is not for the faint of heart. Anyway, the lesson here, no offense, is that if you have a condition, such as PM, or anxiety, read up on the drugs you are taking and LET the anesthieolagist know. I am anemic, which did not help as in I bleed easy. You have every right to a pan free procedure, My partner had a colonoscopy, the doctor was, mean. we should have sued. nuff said. anyway, Sorry I digressed, but assert yourself, push for enough Juice so that you are out - no juice, no procedure and complain to your insurance plan about the lack of cooperation
    Good Luck

I almost lost the last post as I was told I had to log in again - is that what happens if I take too long to finish a thoughtful post?

Short note - It almost happened to me (post lost) - I was told I had to log in again - thank god it did not lose my post or I would have been upset - is that what I get for writing a thoughtful post?

My 2 cents - My Late partner , Cynthia, had one and she told me afterwards that she felt as she was being raped anally. the doc was aware of her meds (diludid 4MG. TID and when she complained, she was told "I can take it out and start all over again. Fast forward to the now. She went to the hospital for a swollen abdomen and left foot. She was put on diuretics and sent home. Then her WHOLE body swole up like the goodyear blimp guy and I took her to the E.R. where they said she needed a endoscopy and they needed to look at her bowel. She was transferred Friday night, to a hospital 50 miles away. she was supposed to have the endoscopic exam or a colonoscopy Saturday Morning, it did not happen. Monday, She passed to Spirit due to Gangrene in the middle intestine due to blockage they would have found IF they had done their job. yes, she had a living will, I overrode it for one test.
