Hooray! Finally a hatch, I was getting worried the eggs weren't gonna hatch. I got a peek of the new little one today when momma repositioned the eggs and fluffed the nest. But if you didn't get a peek, here's a link to a video of the grand event.

This is the web cam of the same nest, only a larger full screen view without all the other stuff.

I really needed this bright spot in my day today after finding out just today that I fractured not just one ankle, but BOTH ankles in last week's fall! #@*%&***!!!

They are so cool! They're even squabbling like children. I was watching earlier and saw one bonk the other over the head!

I can't wait till Momma starts pushing them out of the nest to try their wings.. I sure hope they catch it on camera.

It's fun to watch those little eaglet kids..

Wow, just checked on the eagle family. All three kids were in clear view, with mom feeding them. Camera was really doing some zoom-in shots. Dad came while I was watching and to my horror he had caught a bird, probably a starling, for dinner! He plucked that poor screaming bird and then ate it! With the camera doing close ups, I can see dad has been bring lots of fish for dinner, as there are fish scales, fins and tails all over the nest along with a few unidentifiable carcasses. The close up views of the birds are amazingly clear!!! OH MY! Here's dad with another fish!

For those of you who are grossed out by the birds of prey, here is a link to Emma's nest. Emma is a hummingbird who has been building her nest in the same yard in Laguna Beach for a couple of years now.
She recently built a nest and laid 2 eggs, one on the 2nd and one just today. Beautiful little bird, so fascinating to watch. Can't wait till the eggs hatch!

I can turn away if it gets to be too disgusting to see what the parents bring home for dinner. They are birds of prey after all. I enjoy watching the eaglets too much!
