Dead Prius battery, and my illness
DH drove my Prius once a week for 15 minutes to keep the battery alive.
Alas, today teh battery is dead. It was my surfmobile.
I doubt I will drive again: and if so, could always get another car.
Trying to figure out what to do. Manual makes it seem very hard to restart it. The expense of towing to dealer etc.
Another result of this SPS illness.
That’s a bummer, Sunshine. I know driving would be another loss to mourn. Maybe wait to make a decision until after baclofen pump evaluation?

Another thought, Sunshine, even though I don't know cars. Sometimes manuals are much harder to understand than they need to be. When I can't figure out a manual, I find an 800 number for the company, and often they will provide much clearer instructions over the phone. Prowling around on the company's Website sometimes helps too. You might find questions from other users with answers from the company on how to solve the problem.

I agree with agate. Perhaps you could call your Prius dealer and ask for some guidance. If you're a member of AAA, you might be able to have it towed to a local Prius dealer or mechanic without cost, or with a reduced cost.
I also agree with ANN and Lazarus that you might want to wait until after your Baclofen pump situation is sorted out. Unless not repairing it or re-energizing it will cause further damage, maybe it can wait to be addressed.
I'm so sorry that SPS has taken away so much from you on so many levels. From my boys and Jim, I know how devastating it is to lose independence. I send prayers for your strength and healing.

Sorry to hear that you face this difficulty. As it turns out, jump starting a prius is as easy or easier than jumping a "regular" car.
You only need to give it power to start up the computers that control the systems and it will be able to start normally on the energy still stored in the "big" battery. Just give it power and then press the start button.
