I swam 1/2 mile today. I will get my flu shot today too. I am step counting with my FitBud. The past 5 days showed an average of 350-450 steps. I am using it to be more mindful of inching up the step count. IT IS 9 am and I have taken256 steps. I feel it inthe SPS department ...trying hard!

That is a fantastic step count for you, Sunshine. I guess you will have to find the balance between how much exercise you can do vs spasms.

    You rock!

It is 4:22 pm and my step count for today is 914 steps. I watch the instrument and it appears pretty accurate: slight undercount as it doesnt count small excursions of like 5 steps. You wear it like a lanyard, but could put it in a pocket or clip to waistband.

Sunshine could you wear it along with a life alert? I wear my life alert around my neck, but would like to have a pedometer that I could also wear around my neck. I sometimes do not have a pocket or anything on that has a waistband.

I went looking for a pedometer that can be worn around the neck, and there is one I found:

My August step count average was 1,590 steps/day (figured for 28 days).

    Sunshine mentioned “Fitbud” -

There are also cheaper, unbranded ones that look similar.

What I really meant to say was, would it anyway interfere with my life alert?

Yes I wear it along with my life alert. No problem.
Yesterday I stunned myself with 1018 steps. It is very accurate. I have frequently checked it. It doesnt measure small amounts of steps such as getting out of the wheelchair to walk a few feet. Does better with actual walking.

More of my walking ability is inthe afternoon when my meds are more heavily loaded and accumulating.

As agate showed, its the FitBud for $28. If it lasts at least a year, its a bargain to keep me motivated to walk when lying down is so much less painful.

    Yay for Laura!!

    I miss Jeanie too.

    Happy Birthday Rene!

I just ordered it Sunshine. Thanks for info. I have almost been afraid to get one. I am scared my step count will be so bad that I will not even want to report it. Also, my feet no longer pick up really well, so I am also concerned that it will not count all of what I do, but I am going to try it.

Agate, you did great in August. I doubt that you have too much interest in keeping up with it this month, though you appear so calm that you might.
