    Default Hello everyone

Just wanted to say hello. I read the board but farming makes me quite lazy about responding.
    Wishing everyone health...

    Hello Linda!

I think about you almost every day. Garden questions mostly. Here’s a few:

I have mushrooms coming up in my onions (Sterling long day). Too much water or something in the compost/soil?

And am I the only person who can not grow an average size radish in raised beds? I get normal tops (not an “all greens” situation) but tiny, tasty bottoms for the second year in a row. Same with carrots. Multiple varieties. Too much nitrogen?

We’d love to hear about your Farmers’ Market encounters and the latest pizza you and John have cooked up.

I hope you are both well,
    ANN

Hi Linda! If you get some time please help Ann with her gardening. She needs to feed Peter.

Oh my gosh but it was hot at market today. People are really appreciative of our being there. It is nice.

By 11 am I was sold out of my Persian cucumbers, sugar snap peas, sungold tomatoes, red tomatoes...it was great. But it is interesting how easily people buy a plant but veggies which are a lot more work to grow cause people to hesitate Although no one is really questioning price this year and all my stuff is organic....All produce has to be prepackaged and customers can not pick up and put down a package...once they touch it they have bought it.

I sold a lot of plants too including 4 fig trees and lots of others such as jasmines, jades, portulacaria Afra, stag horn ferns, rubber trees and huge, very old citronella plants. It was fun. The woman I hired is great and talks to every customer and she hops from one end of my 30’ set up to the other end in one long leap!

When John comes in I will show him your questions Ann...although we are both so sleepy it may take a day to get an answer. All in all it was a great day.

Too much fertilizer produces top growth with small bottoms.

Mushrooms could be too much water but likely there is spore in the compost.
