Default Keep on Moving: February 2020

MS creates some real challenges to keep on moving. It helps to inspire each other on how to find ways to move.

Did you stretch in your bed, swing your arms, roll side to side today? Or perhaps you did housework? Or exercised in a pool? Tracked your count of steps? Chased your cat around the home? Pushed the wheelchair wheels with your arms at the store? Post them here and we can support and egg each other on.

REMEMBER: this is a keep on moving thread, not keep on exercising! Any moving is important— it doesnt have to be “exercise”! Even Science proves that...

Tomorrow is Feb 1st: Rabbit rabbit :)

Today I swam 1/2 mile in teh rain, but it was 65F air and 87F water, so it was fine.

My average step count for January, based on 30 days because one day something went wrong with the pedometer situation:

    1,574 steps

I've never had an average this high. But I'm using the newer pedometer, which counts more steps than the older one did. I usually take the average each day of the results from both of them. It's odd but sometimes the older one records more steps than the newer one. Go figure.

I'm realizing that it's a mistake to expect pinpoint accuracy from a pedometer.

Many of the steps are with a rollator but they count with the pedometer.

:) Really great Agate. I'd love even a few steps with a rollater. I have been doing my leg exercises more but still weak. Jeanie :)

That def counts Jeanie!!! Keep us posted on th type of exercise you do?

No swim today: It was 46F out.
I did get in a sum total of 9 minutes rollator, but most of the day is on the wheelchair. It’s disheartening getting worse in so many ways.

Swam today 1/2 mile. 50F air

Walked for 9 minutes with rollator, mostly outside, the only place I feel normal.

I might have equaled Agate's average today....just kidding! I cleaned the glass table in my bedroom, then cleaned the one in my living room. I have to crawl on the floor and then push up with my arms to do that one. I washed two loads of clothes, folded towels, put clean linens on my bed and I dusted all over the downstairs in the house. Seems like I did something else, but I can't really remember anything. I actually did feel that I had accomplished some things.

Laura came and mopped the two downstairs bathroom, cleaned the bottom of the shower, the kitchen counter tops and mopped the kitchen. So, I am going out tomorrow, but Thursday I will try to vacuum downstairs. I think it will be the first time in two weeks at least, might be 3. I was a little behind and then I got sick so nothing has been getting done.

I went upstairs yesterday and dusted and checked on everything up there. I also cleaned the bathroom sinks and vanities down stairs.
