:) Compared to me y'all are like Olympic athletes. Standing any is very difficult and I surely can't take steps. I was a lousy swimmer when I was healthy and I'm sure I would sink now.

I think it is amazing how much physical activity you all do. Use it or lose it. I lost so much in rehab. I am hoping my new insurance will cover more PT.

So far I do not like the new year any better than the old one. Keep up the good work. Jeanie :)

Jeanie, we’re only 4 days into the New Year, who knows if you are able to get PT you might show some improvement. Don’t get discouraged yet.

Jeanie, I don't think you'd sink if you tried to swim. Swimming is a skill we don't seem to forget.

    Jeanie,
We cannot compare ourselves to each other. Our disease(s) impact each of us differently. Example, if I compared myself to ANN’s or Laz’s activity, I would feel like a failure!

I def echo the idea of trying again to see if you qualify for PT.

In the meantime, do whatever motion your body can safely handle. For example, if you can stand for 5 seconds, do it. And do it as often during the day as you can safely handle. Don’t throw in the towel :)

They have these belts that keep you upright in the pool. Your public pool might know something about it. They often have “aquacise” classes. You might need help getting there, however....

I did grocery store walking! Surprise!

    ANN
My walking ability swings drastically from day to day. One day going a mile is easy and the next it is impossibly hard. I am trying to work in the greenhouse for an hour a day. Some of the time I am cleaning out old plants from benches, sometimes I am clipping shoots and starting new plants and sometimes I can crawl around and weed under the benches...watering the whole house takes an hour and is hard.

My day today consisted of getting up first of all. Then washed my hair, took shower, dried and fixed hair, put on makeup and got dressed. I left for grocery store at 3:27PM. I went 3 miles only, so that didn't take much time. I went inside grocery and came out at 5PM. In there an hour and half. I then went to Panera and got a salad to bring home. I rested my legs by sitting while they prepared the salad and also while driving in the car. So, then I went to new Food Lion just below my house and got some Panera soup (they carry it there in the deli section) I got 4 containers because it had a good date. Then picked up one of their 6 inch frozen cheese cakes, looked at grapes and produce, got another item and came home. Took 4 trips down my outside stairs, down walkway to car and then back to get everything in the house. Then I had to take it out of the bags and put it away. I set down to eat at 7:15.

My legs were dragging and I am tired, but shouldn't go hungry anytime soon. Since Ann only shops for herself and Peter, her Mom and MIL I am sure she has leftover time and could come and do my shopping.

Virginia, that’s a lot of activity, at least from my armchair :) I gave up makeup decades ago—- part of my feminist statement I guess—fixing my hair means I put my comb through it. :)....oh well, ...
Agate, that is ALOT OF STEPS! Nice job :)

    Interesting Laz re variability...

Today is neuro this morning, so no swim. Its 46F outside anyway, a bit chilly...
