email UHC and ask if there can be a modified requirement for severe disabled. Point out it discriminates against the disabled who need accommodations. Point out that disabilities are already impoverished and that the extra perk means a lot. Tell them what you do every day despite severe MS disablility?

    That will get their attention.
Maybe I'm just too cynical but insurance companies typically don't give anything away, and they're probably not eager to shell out this money for people's step counts. In fact, that figure--7500 steps--seems unrealistically high even for younger, able-bodied people. I hear that they take an average of 5,000 steps a day.

But I'll try your suggestion. At least a point will be made with them even if it gets no results.

When they first rolled out this Renewal Rewards program, there was quite a bit of publicity about it, with reminders sent to me often. Then in the last couple of years I heard nothing and concluded it was over. When I went to the Website and tried to find it, it took me quite a while just to unearth it. It's as if they're hiding it away until finally getting rid of it entirely.
