    Cool

I just went to the store. I was out of chocolate ice cream, and since I was there, I got beer. I haven't had any in over a month, so why not. I just beat it getting dark. I don't drive after dark. Now Sam is happy, and so am I!

Do you have a neighbor Virginia. Strangers and neighbors will help older women, especially handicap ones. IT makes them feel good to help. Reach out. Call your meditation group and see if they have an idea.
    People want to help.
Let them say no. I bet they will call someone to help you.
Please breakthrough the isolation and call someone in your town.
    Your beautician. Your neighbor.
I am a super stubborn woman: I would call someone I barely knew, explained the problem. Ask if they or a neighbor or someone can help
I cant recall if you have a church....
I wouldn't want to be unable to open windows either. I'd find a way.

Virginia ~ I agree that alerting a neighbor or two is a good idea. It's always best to be prepared and have a plan in place, and for people around you to know that you are there, and alone. Your neighbors might think that you'll be with your family or other friends.

Also, we've been told that we should tell the police and fire department that we have/had people with disabilities or elderly, who would need assistance during any kind of disaster. They've all been here enough times to know this, but there's some kind of formal notification recommended.

I would think this would be a good idea for all of us here, even if we aren't expecting a hurricane. If the police and fire department have a list of folks, who are vulnerable during a disaster, they will check on those people first. Or, at least they should.

Jeanie and Sunshine ~ The trajectory of Dorian seems to change periodically. It must be nerve-wracking for you.

Many prayers on the way that Dorian will change course and move out to sea. Unfortunately, we saw cruise ships in the Atlantic on the Weather Channel, and I thought that was a big mistake.

    Be safe everyone ~

:) We might very well only get high winds and rain. But the poor Bahamas are going to have 150+ winds and 1- to 15 storm surge. Many of their places are not up to par and could have a lot of damage. I'm praying for those being hit the hardest. Jeanie :)

Jeanie, it does look really bad for the Bahamas. I wish it would go on out to sea, but pretty sure it is going to hit Bahamas first.

Howie, the truth comes out. It is Sam that gets the chocolate ice cream and you get beer! Now we know.

:) Andy and Torre came. Andy put up all my shutters and put trash cans, etc. in the shed. Torre folded some clothes for me and changed my linens and rotated my mattress.

It is bright Sunshine and hardly any wind. I hope the thought it might turn and go up the coast would be good for me. I do not want to go anywhere but here. Andy was insistent that I may have to go to Jim's. I cannot get into either of their bathrooms, so that is not going to happen. I can stay here even if no power. That is preferable to having to take diapers, etc somewhere.

I will post tomorrow how it is going.Virginia and Howie I hope y'all don't wind up with Dorian. Jeanie :)
