There are still 3, but Mom is looking out over the landscape and not after her children.

Mama had two babies under her and as I watched she got up and moved around so they were in front of her. It was windy and I just wonder if she was knocking the wind off them.

I saw the two babies acting hungry but mom was eating without giving them much.

Nasty weather at Deborah North. The snowy nest is moving in the wind while mom tries to keep eggs or new chicks warm.

And then there's this poor youngster with his butt in a hole, yellow feet kicking, struggling to get up, but can't! Mom (or is it dad?) just stands there watching. Give the poor kid a boost!!!

Oh, the life of a bird can be rather trying!

He's up and out. She did seem to be trying to help a little. She was moving twigs and things from underneath him - at least when she wasn't eating.

Thank goodness he's out. I kept checking on him and he was struggling for hours! It's so windy. I'm hoping the nest isn't breaking apart from all the movement since the nest is in a tree, unlike the eagle nests on Catalina Island which are built on rocks, making them stable even in winds.

Hope mom fills that hole so it doesn't happen again. The Deborah Eagles could have the same issue due to the awful winds they are having there too.

Those two boys are having a great time growing up in that environment. The little emus might get picked on for awhile by the big one.

Weird story in the news about yet another bald eagle nest.

    Here's the nest.

So funny watching this nest tonight. Mom's awake and while watching her I kept seeing a flash of two glowing eyes between the nest sticks. Then the eyes appeared on the other side of the nest and out came a little mouse. Mom saw it and opened her beak like she was gonna grab it, so it retreated. Keeps reappearing. Living life dangerously!!!
