Like I said Peg, you lead a very extremely interesting life. A dig as mama for chickens!!

Cherie, lots of work for you.

Ann, you could have just beamed me your leftovers. That sounds like a wonderful meal. I wish you could have ate all of it.

:) Nothing to report. I saw the new year in on TV and trying to keep poor Lacy less frightened from all the neighbors fireworks. We're in the 80's during the day and about 70 at night.

All my Christmas things are still up and I will leave them until the Epithany on the 6th, unless Andy wants to do it before then. He came today and put out two weeks recycle and garbage as we missed the Christmas one.

I am so grateful to have Lacy, my family, my friends, my ramp van, my scooters, my house and my finances in order and fairly healthy for having had MS for about 60 years. I want to get a Roomba so my floors get vacuumed more often.

I hope all of us have a wonderful year this year. You are all like a family to me. Jeanie :)

Special welcome to anna kieu, who has posted twice on this board now!

Sunshine and Peg, you both sound as if you've been real mother hens. Or at least you've raised real chicks.

Then we have Howie, who has just described himself as "keeping an eye on the forum." Does that mean he's a father hen?

Howie, since you are the cat man, can you tell me why Cats get stuck in trees and can't or won't come down? Why do they go up a tree if they can't get down? My dog use to tree a cat if it came in our yard and then if we let her she would sit for hours just looking up, waiting for the cat to come down. My husband would have to get a tall ladder and go up and get the cat and bring it down - after we made our dog go in the house of course.

Now, I can understand a cat going up a tree and being afraid to come down if a little dog is sitting there waiting, but I am wondering about the ones that climb trees for no reason and then can't seem to come down on their own. I just saw a video of fireman going up to get a cat out of tree that had been up there for three days.

Cats will come down. They are just reluctant. We had one in one of our trees growing up and it took three days for the cat to come down. No dog involved.

There are not dead cats in trees nor falling out of trees.

I've often heard that cats will eventually come down but I've found that that isn't always true. Often they simply can't, for a variety of reasons. One of them is that they're not built like squirrels.
