I ordered some from Amazon. I have a red one that is pretty stretched out. I found a yellow one that was apparently rotting. It just kept pulling apart. I tore it up. I was given all of these when I was going to PT. I guess I threw the green away. I remember using it the most, so guess it was worn out. I don't recall ever having a blue one, but I will have when these come. It may be too strong for me.

Great going Linda. I had forgotten about these bands. I use to sit and pull on them with my feet and hands.

Yes, the bands get weird after a while, particularly if they aren't used much. I bought a couple of sets of them but there have been some in the set that I never used. After about a year or two of sitting around, they were sticking together, getting discolored, and almost falling apart.

The PT warned me about one of the exercises I was given to do, in fact. You put a band on a door hinge and take hold of both ends of it and pull back on it repeatedly. A person tends to lean back while doing that but the PT said to be careful not to lean back--because the band can break, and the person might fall backwards. I haven't had a band break in that situation but I can believe that it might.

I would worry about the band breaking, and smacking me in the face. That would hurt!

I did that exercise Agate. My bands were new at the time.

    Howie, yep that would hurt.

It would hurt too if the band broke and you flipped onto the floor on your back. You might be severely injured.

Or it broke, and hit you in the eye! Let's start a movement to ban these things!

It might not work for me because I am too forgetful. I was using my stretched out red one this afternoon. I had used it on legs, around feet pulling up, on arms stretching upper back, etc. So, I went to heat some soup for supper. While waiting for it I wanted to use my band. I could not find it. I looked all over where I had been sitting in living room, all over dinning room, all over kitchen, even refrigerator and freezer where I got soup out. I looked and looked and finally I reached my hand up for something and there it was around my neck. It was short because I had folded it. I was beginning to talk to myself, saying I know I had it this afternoon where did it go?

Guess I'll have to start with looking around my neck.

I went back to page 1 and did some of the video that Agate had posted of sitting exercises. Then I went to the second video that Suze-Q had posted of exercises for seniors and tried to follow along with the first one - this one is in two parts if no one noticed.

Oddly enough it was the warm up exercise that I felt I better not do because he was kind of swinging his arms and a little more than stepping in place. I felt if I did that I would not able to do the rest. Also, I did not do the second half that he did. I was getting a little tired.
