There are snickerdoodles in the stores--Pepperidge Farm brand. I've never tried them. They're probably OK.

But the ones I used to make are from this recipe:

Agate, you are as bad as Ann!

When I read you recipe it sounds like they are in balls. I thought they were flat cookies.

You put the balls onto the cookie sheet and they look like little globs of dough but they flatten out right away as they bake. They should come out looking like the photo.

You could try just one snickerdoodle and if you have more of them, give the rest away.

Maybe find a neighbor who happens to have some. That's how I had my first snickerdoodle--a neighbor who happened to be of Norwegian heritage offered me one, and somehow I got the idea that they were originally Norwegian. According to Wikipedia, nobody knows what country they originated in, though.

Spent much of today cooking in my feet or sitting on stool to cook. Zero time in R2D2 so far. So, am adding it to my activity count.

A neighbor brought me some chocolate chip cookies this afternoon and some banana bread.

It was sweet of her. She does this every year. I felt like asking her if she knew how to make snickerdoodles, and if she didn't that I could give her a recipe. However, I did not want to appear to be ungrateful for the cookies and banana bread.

She likes to bake, so maybe some day I will just casually ask her.

If she bakes them for you, and you think they're good, send me a few so I can say I've had one. I don't have it in me to try baking them myself.

I went to Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods and MIL’s today. I was out for over 3 hours and very glad to get home.

Virginia, if you lived near Peg, you soon wouldn't be able to fit through the door. She is ALWAYS cooking up the most yummy dishes!
