Default How hot can it get?

The summer heat is on us now. Barely got up to 70 two days ago, but got up to 105 here today. My brother just called and tells me it got up to 120 where he is (LA). He said it had cooled down to 106 at 7 p.m. when he called on his way home. He's a FedX driver and he was really suffering today.

We have had temps over 90 for a week but today had a cold front come through with rain (light) and cooler temps. It is now 72 outside with near 100% humidity but so much more comfortable than it has been in days.

I posted in the chat thread that we peaked at 115, with a "real feel" of 117, and we live about 20 miles from the coast. It's about 9 p.m., and it's 101 now. Tomorrow, it's predicted to be 108, but today's prediction was 110 ~ so much for predictions

I can't recall the locations, but we watched news coverage of two fires in So Cal.

We've had gorgeous weather for weeks in the mid-70s to mid 80s, and there wasn't a gradual buildup to this heat wave. That makes it more shocking to our systems.

I think we're in for a long hot summer.

    Stay cool, everyone!

There's a gigantic fire in northern California at the Oregon border, and the word is that this summer will be exceptionally bad in terms of fires in the West.

Around here it's been perfectly delightful lately--70's and low to mid 80s, with nights so cool that it's chilly--but that's about to change. We'll be heading into the 90s in a couple of days, and we do get days over 100' as well. Not looking forward to that.

It has been hot and muggy here for a week. Temps in the 90ís w dew points in the high 70ís. It feels muggy here when the dew point is in the low 60ís so the mid 70ís is very oppressive. By the way, you can have close to 100% humidity if itís raining on a cool day. Itís the dew point you want to watch and hide from.

It was supposed to rain all day yesterday and then break the heat spell. We got one rain shower as most of the rain went south of here. And then we got lovely Canadian air! Thank you Canada! Please donít add a tariff! I wouldnít blame you but I so need to get out of the house.
