    Default Goodbye, Sally

More bad news, I'm afraid. Sally (Salpalsally) died February 23.

Oh, I'm very sorry to hear this. Thank you, agate, for sharing it with us.

Sally was a special member here for a long time and I'm sure was in all of our thoughts even when she was no longer able to comfortably continue participating here. She was a regular part of the nest watch group here that nuthatch started, and I so enjoyed the ongoing discussion about hatchlings, etc.

    Rest well, dear Sally.

Oh, I'm sorry to see this. Not entirely surprising, but definitely sad.

So few of us left here...and most of us old, seriously impaired, or both...

I remember when Sally's computer skills were minimal. She learned and eventually helped people resize pictures and help w other skills. She was a wiz. Her Mac slowed her down but only for a short time.

She "thanked" nearly every post and was often the first person to welcome a newbie.

She talked about her house and van. I feel like I can sit on her chair (latter a couch) and see out the window; walk to the kitchen for coffee! Answer the door for the Swan man.

Sally, I miss you and will continue to miss you.

This is sad news for all of us...
The pictures in her obituary are just wonderful and will leave you smiling right along with her.

    She fought the good fight.

I recall noticing that she was thanking almost every post. At first I didn't see much point in that but as time went on I realized that message boards have changed radically over the years. With reduced membership, those who are on a board sometimes wonder if anyone is even reading their posts. Clicking on "thanks" as Sally did was a way of letting them know that, "Hey, I saw your post and appreciate it!"

After all, even a post of a few words posted by one person found the time and energy to do that is something. That person could have been elsewhere, doing other things, but opted to come here and say something.

Sally must have recognized that long before I did. I'm not saying that I think everyone should thank every post. It's entirely up to each person. Just saying that I completely understand why Sally did that so diligently.

Strange, I was thinking last night that it was probably time to call the Nursing Home again to find out how she was doing.

She was another one who was always cheerful. We knew she had lots of problems with her MS, but she was still cheerful about it. I was already missing her, now I will even more.

I too could picture her house, but through the pictures she posted of grandchildren, sometimes with her in them. Also, I remember when she was having her basement redone after it had flooded and she posted pictures. She was so proud of getting it finished.

A sweet lady! I am not terribly shocked by this in one way and yet in another I am.
