This part was kind of funny:
She had asked me what problems troubled me the most, and I'd mentioned a few. I didn't mention memory.
A bit later she mentioned memory problems in passing, and I said I find memory problems troubling but I'd forgotten to mention them.
Only after I said it did I realize how funny a remark that must have been. Maybe she and some colleagues laughed about it over lunch.
