Default Too many rx drugs being taken?

Over the years on MS boards I'm sure we've all noticed how many people there are who take a boatload of prescription drugs. You have to wonder if all of those drugs are needed and if they might be interacting with one another and causing harm.

It seems that many in the US are taking far too many rx drugs, according to this article in Consumer Reports (September 2017):

I think it's important that a patient makes sure that their doctors knows ALL the medicines they're taking, including anything they use that's bought off the shelf (like aspirin, or dulcolax), and all supplements, including vitamins, or energy drinks. Sometimes one doctor will prescribe someone that "does play well" with a drug another doctor has prescribed, or won't be as effective if taken with a supplement

I take 3 prescription drugs and one over the counter medicine, and 8 other vitamins daily. My primary care , neurologist, urologist, wound care doctor and dentist all know, and I present them all with a new list every six months.

I think people get into trouble when the don't do that.

Three rx drugs, a vitamin supplement, vitamin D pills, Viactiv calcium + vitamin D supplement, and two OTC remedies (Claritin, aspirin).

Two or three eyedrops plus a skin medicine but those aren't pills.

The oldest person in this building (she's about 95) takes only 2 pills. Her neighbors have been marveling at it and saying she's the healthiest person here.

Yes, people who don't make sure their doctors are aware of what they're taking are taking a huge chance.

23 meds, which include several supplements and OTC all prescribed by asthma,(5), Neuro (7) one by my cardiologist, and one of them by the GI guy.
They have my list. My pharmacist catches incompatibles that a doc missed.

This list became large 8 months ago with the addition of 3 muscle relaxers and several Meds (3) to manage the side effects.

None can be let go. Once I start medical MJ am hoping some will no longer be needed.

I think 23 is the record here. BBS, do you take everything at once, or spread them out? Two of mine are 3 times per day, so they are spread out.
