Life goes on, I guess, but you may feel as if you're underwater while going through the daily routines.

That seems like an early start for a school year, or is that the way most schools are now? Always was the Tuesday after Labor Day but that was back in olden times.

I'm so sorry that you had to let your dear Taelor go, compounding your grief.

I hope that you'll be able to get your stitches out this week. Wishing your son all the best as he starts his junior year (they grow up so fast, as the saying goes).

    Sending healing energy your way.

When I was in school, we started the first Wednesday after Labor Day and that was the routine here, until this year. I have no idea why they are starting 8 days earlier this year.

This seems to be common now. Our friend's daughter started school last week. School then ends in May. Like you and many others, for me and my children (two generations), school started the day after Labor Day and ended in early June. I don't know why this is changing, but it would be interesting to find out.

Hope all goes well for your son and you ~

Thanks, Virginia, I'm hoping it's a good year for him, too.

Thanks, Rose. I got my stitches out on Friday... Now to get a haircut this coming week.

My apartment feels empty without Taelor here, especially when someone knocks on the door or rings the doorbell. I'm thinking about visiting the county Humane Society to see what they have available and whether or not we click.

Take your time in trying to replace Taelor, but I do hope you will do so when the timing is right and the right one clicks. I wish I had one.

    Cool

Agate, wasn't it fun taking a dinosaur to school each day?

As I remember, it was always the first few days of September that school started. Then the pool closed about a week after that, so no more fun after school.

Once Sam passes, I don't think I'll have anymore pets. Cats have been a sheer joy to have, and I think about Seven everyday, but good thoughts that make me smile remembering them.
    Roswell was a gift.

You bet it was! Just grabbed my slate and ran out of the cave every morning and hippityhopped my way to school. It wasn't so easy then--but it was really just a couple of short miles each way, and even though I had to trudge through snow barefoot, I got over those chilblains pretty fast.
