    Default OT.... just saying hello

The farm is really busy. My farm is organic so things are extra hard.

I have been doing battle with Colorado Potato beetles, Mexican bean beetles. And a weed name dodder. Look it up. We have the orange one. It is as thin as a strand of hair, grows and spreads through the air....nothing to pull o it of the ground. It wraps itself around a plant and strangles it to death. Whew.

Plants can be so devilishly ingenious. Dodder sounds like a real nightmare.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by!

I think if I were growing crops I'd yearn to use some of those nasty old pesticides sometimes. Hope the bugs and weeds won't win the battle.

Agate, with DT eliminating so many former environmental regulations, she well MIGHT be able to use them!

Linda, so sorry you're having such challenges. What a nightmare this dodder sounds. Weeds have a mind and will of their own to survive!

Please check in when you can, let us know how goes the battle!

Hope your health is remaining under control and stable!

So glad you checked in. I was worried your absence was health related! You got your hands full!

My goodness! Here I was wishing I had the energy and the physical capability to just dig in the dirt a little bit. I am not so sure about that now.

I do hope your health is holding out during this particular trial.

    Cool

An aggressive plant that kills other plants. That sounds like one my crazy sci-fi movies, but it's real!

We actually have two varieties of dodder. One is rooted in the ground and has a thicker vine but it is easier to handle...if you are constantly vigilant. The yellow/orange one that is airborne is so fine and murderous to the plant that it does seem like a sci-fi story.
