    Hi all

I'm really glad I found this forum, I was starting to feel a bit isolated.

I was diagnosed with a colloid cyst and a meninginoma in Nov 2016. It was a little relief as it helps to explain the headaches. I'm having another MRI this Saturday and I'm also hoping to have some sort of plan in place and be able to see an occupational health expert to see what else can be done. To be honest, work have been great but I feel as though I'm not doing as well as I should be.

I suffer from regular headaches, and periodic dizziness, nausea, forgetfulness and shakes.

I'm looking forward to reading more stories of hope and understanding more about this plonker in my brain.

    Thanks

    Mark

    Hi Mark, and

Neurological diagnoses are mighty unwelcome, and I'm sorry about yours.

Good luck with the MRI tomorrow. A good neurologist is important. I hope that you have confidence in your doctors and find that they take enough time to address your concerns.

Meningiomas are almost always benign, aren't they? There should be some comfort in that.

    Hiya

    Thanks for the replies.

Yeah, meninginoma is believed to benign, so I tend not to think about that. The cyst plays on my mind quite a lot as I worry for my young family.

As I mentioned though, I'm really hoping that I can put a plan in place with the neurosurgeon when I get to see him after this latest MRI.

Off to do some reading now!

    Thanks

    Mark

    Hi

Had consultant meeting yesterday. No change in size of cyst and NS seem quite fine with size and says it's a 5% risk. Back in a year for a follow up scan.

He seemed more concerned with the meninginoma which was a little weird.

    Thanks

I'd say it's good news that the risk is so low. Maybe you could ask if there's any special concern about the meningioma, just to get a little more information.

I hope something can be done to help the headaches and other problems you've been having.
