Default Neuro Visit today and Marionol

I had my 3 month follow up with neuro today. He wants a brain MRI in March rather than May to be sure the cog problems are only due to Baclofen, and not further brain involvement.

I asked him about Cannabinoid Oil, Marijuana without THC to help with the spasticity. He wrote rx for Marinol.

Pharmacy said cash price is $650 a month unless doc can get it authorized. So, am working on that.

In the meantime, I stopped at vitamin store and got Cannabinoid Oil OTC. I am starting it tonight. There iS nothing to lose except $40 in trying it, until I can get the Marinol approved.

Marinol...what do you expect the benefit to be...as opposed to the benefit of baclofen?? I am curious.

The Baclofen still leaves me with stiff feeling leg muscles as though they will cramp any moment, and pain from the knee down.

Marinol can help in addition to the Baclofen. Doc has patients who treat their MS spasticity by smoking pot. I have no desire to do it, and it's illegal.

Marinol is synthetic Schedule C marijuana..

CBD is from hemp plant, minimal THC and thus, no high, and its legal.

    Thanks! Perfect information.
I have been having more trouble with spasticity.
Pot is legal here in Massachusetts. But I do not want to smoke it. I wonder about eating it versus the drug.
It is legal to grow 6 plants I think. I have a friend with a prescription for mj and she grows some.

That's all I know. My Frankenstein's Monster Walk has certainly made me think.

A few years ago, I heard/read that Marinol is less effective than the real thing. I use CBD oil and it works better than any muscle relaxer I've been given- baclofen, zanaflex.

Smoking marijuana doesn't help me at all.

Which CBD do you use? Brand? Dose?

BBS ~ $650 for Marinol? Is that per month? That is ridiculously expensive. From what I've read/been told, the synthetic THC is less effective than the natural THC/CBD, as Jendi said. I hope you get relief from the CBD.

Lazarus ~ MMJ comes in all forms and fashion in most states, where it is legal. One option might be gel caps with THC and CBD. It also comes in tinctures and drops.

Yes, that's a month! And who knows if it even helps?!

I don't want the THC, so I hope it works with just the Cannabinoid oil...

That's just it. Like a lot of other products it helps some and does nothing for others. Good luck with the oil.
