Thank you, Mike. Most folks here have tried hard to be civil in this increasingly uncivil world..... We appreciate your and other moderators work.

I thanked you and our moderators in a previous post for allowing this thread to continue. I know you're bending the TOS for us, and I'm grateful.

Our Angel Michael received his wings in 2003 and now resides in Heaven. Our Angel Jon lives at home with me and Jim, the world's most wonderful Dad.
Randy Bryce is apparently still in the running for Paul Ryan's House seat. Wondering how much these revelations about his record are going to be a problem:

Incidentally, his mother has MS, and she appears in a campaign video he made:

Agate, I am afraid that the number of times he has been arrested and also the many different reasons will probably knock him out of the running. Even if he wins the primary, you can bet the right will be in there with tons of money and ads exploiting all of this. I doubt he could win.
Of course, it is not my state and Cat might have a different take on this. I liked the ad that he made with his Mother and Son, but the news that CNN got is pretty detrimental in my thinking. I wish they had a really good Democrat in that State to run for Ryan's seat. Sure would be nice to pick up another one.

I was hopeful about Randy Bryce but now I'm afraid you're right, Virginia. Even though many Congressmen are known to get themselves in lots of trouble, he might not get away with a record like that, as a newcomer.

For anyone who might be interested Peter Struck (the man who worked on investigation and was found to send unflattering DT text) is to testify in front of Senate tomorrow beginning at 10A.M. This is to be televised. He has already testified behind closed doors for 11 hours.
Turns out he was head of the Counter Intelligence portion of the FBI, so therefore would know a lot about Russia. I am going to try to watch as much as I can.

Had to refresh my memory about him:

Interesting but sad article in the latest New England Journal of Medicine about the children being detained at the US/Mexico border--"Housing Immigrant Children: The Inhumanity of Constant Illumination":

I haven't followed this race much as it is out of my district. Ryan is still much admired in his district, tho. With bryces record, he.will.have a tough time, im.afraid, and the woman also running is hardly noticed. I've been more involved with the Baldwin race. She's the long time Democratic incumbent, and the repubs have drawn in millions of dollars from outside the state in an effort to unseat her.
