Not to my liking at all. Someone, a Republican I might add, said they represented what Christmas stood for in the bible "the blood of Jesus Christ". Don't know if they just came up with that or not.

According to the link you referenced this is not what was intended. Therefore, I think they just thought that up as a cover story.

Someone else called it a house of horrors! Maybe as Melania said it looks better in person. Don't think I'll be going this year to find out.

I'm not sure they would be much good as mulch. They're styrofoam cones into which workers had to stick lots and lots of red berries. I'm not sure what the red berries are made of but my guess is that they're not real berries.

Styrofoam cones with fake berries. Even worse.

As I said, she can't compete with her predecessors.

    I rest my case.

Ugh... No class whatsoever. Hideous red trees. Too much fake stuff.

And 45 of them? Maybe each one represents one of the 45 US Presidents?

Some are much smaller than others. Maybe those are the Presidents that the Twitler has a low opinion of?

I haven't seen the red cones in a decent photo context but you ladies have fried the FLOTUS to a crisp. Styrofoam with bulk fake red berries from china. Not appetizing. I think she may be going for the NYC/fifth avenue store display look. Urgle. Last year's stretch of tall leafless faux snow trees were ok as generic winter decor.
I thought it odd that the WH hired ballet dancers last year for a pas de deux photo shoot and the only human audience was FLOTUS. No president, no invited families, no kids... that said a lot more than the choice of any decoration.

But yet Michelle Obama mentioned that FLOTUS has not taken her up on her offer to call her if she needed any advice, and FLOTUS went a step further by issuing a press release in response saying that she doesn't need any help as she has her own professional team around her to assist her if needed.

Um...really, FLOTUS? Are you sure about that? Even your chosen floral designer was shocked that the red Christmas tree design was met with such public backlash.

Maybe you DID need the wise counsel of former First Ladies after all...

renee, I didn't know that about the performance for One last year. That is truly strange.

renee, here's another photo. It's all a matter of personal taste, and I was just giving my opinion.

Yes, there are some pretty funny memes that have come out of it, the Muppets being one!

I am not sure what this looks like - is it kind of gothic looking??? Or maybe she was just tired of all the gold in New York apartment so decided red would be a change.
