They carry thermometers and maybe sleeves for a very low price at CVS or any similar place. Paying a little is better than dealing with that nurse.
Help, I've floored it and I can't let up!

Yep. I am bringing my own thermometer in case I hear this nonsense again.

And just to AGAIN show my ignorance, what is a sleeve?

Little plastic covers that fit over thermometers. They're disposable and so the thermometer probably won't need to be washed off if the sleeve is used. Most thermometers are digital now, and my guess is that the sleeve is a convenient way of staying hygienic.

I had a huge stack of these sleeves when I had a cat thermometer. They were convenient for the rare times when I took a cat temperature. I believe I bought the sleeves separately--they weren't packaged with the thermometer.

Edited to add: Vicky has provided a great photo.

Thankfully, I was assigned my former nurse today :) the infusion was uneventful! Yay!

She showed me how to read the digital numbers in the infusion machine. She punched in 30/30 and it did a six hour infusion.

They didn't give you that horror of a nurse you had before? Yay!

Not only that, but the head nurse caught my eye and said hello to me specifically. He is trying. It won't be a problem as long as he stays the head nurse that makes the assignments.

Am glad I spoke up. It helps that I had braintalk people rooting for me:)

That last sentence just made my day, BBS.

Now if we could just get Sally back in here, we'd be really a class act around here.

SALLY, hi there if you're reading!
