    Default Hurricane Matthew Check In

This looks like a very bad hurricane. East Coasters check in about your area here? Jeannie? Others?

I think I will cancel work for Wed Thurs and Friday. Got to get the hurricane shutters up. Will try to talk DH into evacuating to west coast of Florida.

So, depending on the track of hurricane, I will either be posting here, or offline a bit.

Oh no, here you go again! Hoping husband agrees to visit elsewhere for the duration and your fancy shutters do their job.

    I remember when you rebuilt.

:) My generator came home from the shop $180.04. The overhauled the carburator and some parts. I will only put up the shutters if we are forecast to get heavy winds. I plan to stay put. I am praying the power stays on as I do not want my sons to have to come and do the generator each day.

I have had hurricanes here that did not take out the power and I can just do my normal stuff that way. My yard has a swale near the street and even when we had flooding enough for my sons to row the canoe down the street, water did not come up to the house. It is concrete block and has a concrete tile roof so wind would have to be over a 100 to do much damage.

I am hoping it goes out further to sea as Jim has had plans with some friends for a motorcycle trip to NC to do some of the winding mountain roads and they planned to leave Fri. the 7th. I hope he can still go.

I feel sad for Haiti as they do not need that. Let's pray for it to fizzle out. Jeanie :)

I just hope Mathew doesn't visit Ohio. A couple of years ago we had hurricane
    winds in my back yard.

Made it to Tampa. Now we wait to see damage. It's gonna be tough with no power and thus no a/c, no internet....
