Jeanie, when it rains, it pours! I hope you can get things on the van the way they are SUPPOSED to.

Parsi or anyone, how much does that shot cost? I know most have insurance, but what would it cost out of pocket. I don't want one, never have, just being curious.

Jeanie, what's your plan if hurricane Matthew hits? WPB IS in the cone of anxiety tonight.

    Cool

:) If Matthew comes I will probably take the dog and go to Jim's or Andy's if the power goes out. I have a generator that would run everything but the AC but Jim put it in the shop last Friday. It has to be gased every 12 hours and it is outside where I cannot get to it to do anything with it.

I have to depend on my sons in that case. I will have them put the shutters on the windows if we are to get winds over 75 mph. If the power stays on I will just stay home.

I just got home from grocery shopping and I am about ready to turn in. Jeanie :)

Howie, Medicare usually picks up the tab but last year I ended up paying for it because of some glitch in the system (the pharmacy goofed up on the paperwork), and it was $28.

THANK YOU AGATE!!! A plain simple answer to a plain simple question. I wasn't going to say a waste of time, or anything negative, I simply wanted to know the price. Thank you!

Feel free to say something negative too.

I don't mind saying something negative:

Medicare will pay for flu shots and pneumonia shots. Both are a covered under plans you may have through the Affordable Care Act, otherwise called Obama care.

One shot that you have to pay for (although private ins may cover it) is the shot for shingles. I can speak from experience: it is horrible, the most painful thing I've ever experienced, and even now, two years later, I still suffer residual effects. I urge you to get the shot, if at all possible.

No out of pocket for hubby or me. So insurance covered it all. At Shopko we even got a $5 coupon off $25 storewide purchase (with exclusions).

First time shots for either of us. It's an inactive vaccine.

I've always been of the belief, right or wrong, that our immune systems are all revved up, and ready to combat any virus it encounters. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I haven't been sick since way before MS. Not even a cold or the sniffles.

How has everyone else been since MS as far as getting colds and flu?
