    Smile Happy Thanksgiving!

    ((((((HUGS TO ALL)))))) ~

I give thanks for all of you, my CN Family, and my BrainTalk Family, and for the 15 years I have been blessed to be a member of this community.

Here, I have met the most remarkable, courageous, caring, supportive, understanding, compassionate, and loving people, whose life stories have touched my soul deeply. I am honored to know you, and I thank you for sharing your life with me, and allowing me to share mine with you.

Thank you for the support you've given to me through the most difficult and painful times of my life. Thank you for your prayers, for your advice and insight, and for your constant friendship.

I look forward to many more years with you, as we follow our journeys. I will be here, and I will keep the light on for you.

May your Thanksgiving, and every day of your lives, be filled with blessings ~ peace, hope, strength, faith, and love.

If at any time you feel alone on this holiday, please know that I'm praying for and thinking of you. You are not alone.

    I love you ~

    Love & Light,

    Rose

Happy Thanksgiving to everybody at CN and Braintalk! Thought I would sneak on while the food is cooking and say I am so thankful to have met all of you! I am so thankful for your support, love and insight for all of these years! I am especially thankful for your wonderful support of my films!

I got a further reason to be thankful this morning, my teacher who had the stroke sent me a "Happy Thanksgiving" message on his own(I was just about to message him myself LOL) He's doing great and I will post full details in the other update thread.

On Thanksgiving day, we gave thanks that we were all healthy and at home. We watched the Macy's parade (as always), some of the Westminster dog show, and then Jim and I started cooking. We were able to bring all of our dishes to fruition so that we could eat together at 4:30. Everything turned out wonderfully and was incredibly delicious.

Here's our Field Roast Celebration Roast prior to cooking:Screen Shot 2015-11-26 at 5.31.22 PM.jpg

And out of the oven: Screen Shot 2015-11-26 at 5.31.42 PM.jpg

And on Our Table: Screen Shot 2015-11-26 at 5.32.57 PM.jpg

We have enough left overs to feed us both dinner tonight, so this meal went a long way. The porcini mushroom gravy came in a packet (powdered) with the frozen Celebration Roast, which I added to water as I heated it. It made a LOT of gravy!

While we enjoyed our meal and our time together to eat, we felt very sad that Jon couldn't join us, and that he could not appreciate the nutrition and flavor of the food we prepared. And we don't know what he's thinking or how he's feeling ~ left out, sad, frustrated.

It must be hard for him to watch TV with all of the ads for pizza and burgers, or movies with scenes of people eating, even our home videos, where he was eating orally. My boys always had voracious appetites. Veggie lasagna, buckwheat pancakes, pizza, veggie burgers, everything and anything that tasted good.

Jon can hear us in the kitchen, although we are low key about it, and discuss the preparations in the kitchen, not in front of him. But, who are we kidding, really? Jon's a very smart man. And he knows we're cooking, and he can smell it! Nonetheless, he doesn't complain, because that's not his style. I'm sure that he realizes that we have to eat, and that he can't eat any longer, because it could literally kill him.

Just another example of his resilient, indomitable, courageous spirit, which Jim and I long to emulate, but know that we fall far short of his highly raised bar.

Yesterday, Jon's vitals were perfect. Today, he's battling low SATS and a high heart rate, but his temp is normal. His urine output is excellent, and his colostomy output was prolific after his enema last night. The usual clues are not clicking, so Jim and I are trying to figure out what is going on with Jon. The continuing Mystery of Jon ~

Hope that your left overs are scrumptious, and that you're relaxing and resting over this long weekend.

Giving Thanks for You and Your Loved Ones ~

LOVE THOSE PHOTOS ROSE! I'm hungry all over again. Looks a lot like our dinner. It seems like Jon most likely takes it all in stride just as I have always done. I have no other choice. Though I can't begin to picture what Jon is thinking. Jon seems like an upbeat person in general like I am. I posted another update in the threadů.My teacher came back!!!

Glad you enjoyed the photos! We still have leftovers!

The Tofurky gravy, which you had with your meal, is quite tasty. We have separate containers of it in our freezer, for those occasions, when I am too tired to make gravy or don't have all of the ingredients.

Thankfully, Jon's SATS and heart rate are excellent now. We haven't a clue as to what was causing his symptoms. He's a Mystery Man!

Jon is a very positive person, with an incredible resiliency. He (as did Michael) takes everything in his stride. He is very well loved by everyone, who knows him. Jon is pretty amazing! I'm not biased (well, okay, yes, I am. But it's also true.)

I'm sure you and Jon would get along famously. But watch out! He'll steal your heart!

Cool Rose! Here they sell the gravy as a separate product as well. I'm so glad Jon is doing well! He seems like a fun and interesting guy! I'm sure he would steal my heart since he basically already has stole my heart from your descriptions of him. You take such wonderful care of him! Posted in the other thread…my teacher had a rough day…he's alright but he looked awful.
