Thank you so much for posting this here in Coping With the Loss of a Child. I'm so grateful that we still have this forum, and that it is here as a place to share this Mother's Day site with grieving Mothers.
Holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, and all special occasions are particularly difficult for grieving parents. It's a conflict of emotions, where we demonstrate happiness for those with us, while carrying sorrow for those, who are no longer physically here with us. The "Missing You Meter" always peaks at these times, and we need to identify different coping tools to get through them.
For me, finding ways to incorporate Michael into these occasions helps me to keep him present. After he passed, we started new traditions, which we continue to celebrate a dozen years later.
For any grieving Moms, who are reading this thread, please feel free to post, and I will be here for you to support you, and to share with you my journey and what has helped me to survive the greatest pain we'll ever experience.
Prayers for your peace and comfort ~
Thank you again, ((((((Donna)))))) ~
Love & Light,

Mom to Jon, 48, (seizure disorder; Gtube; trache; colostomy; osteoporosis; hypothyroid; enlarged prostate; lymphedema, assorted mysteries) and Michael, 32, (intractable seizures; Gtube), who were born with an undiagnosed progressive neuromuscular disease and courageous spirits. Our Angel Michael received his wings in 2003 and now resides in Heaven. Our Angel Jon lives at home with me and Jim, the world's most wonderful dad.
