I am still feeling a bit overwhelmed by my recent elevation from "De Facto" Director, and "Acting President" to Official titles, that on paper can actually effectively and efficiently accomplish administrative tasks. Sitting in the MGH Neurology Department, with Dr Daniel B. Hoch, (Dan) I couldn't help think about the BrainTalk of old.
Dan and I had a great discussion about the BT of old. Doing so, I seemed to be able to highlight the most important reasons for the complete revival of BTC, even improving upon the way that it helped our members. Mistakes can be the best teaching experiences. BrainTalk has been around for a while, and we have learned a lot about what our community needs are over the past couple of decades.

Dan and I realized that as a doctor, he can serve BT best by being a doctor, not an administrator. That is where his expertise is. As an administrator he created a bottleneck in the organization simply because of the demands of being a doctor.
This has been solved.

Dr. Daniel Hoch, BTC, Inc.ís will soon be relieved from his duties as Treasurer by the incoming Treasurer, Mike Weins, in the beginning of 2020. For the time being, Dan will take an untitled seat on the board of directors. Over the next year, we plan on creating a new ďAdvisory Board ď with no fiduciary duties, perfect for interested professionals like Dr Daniel Hoch who are interested in participation in our community, though donít wish to have responsibilities for the operation of the organization itself.
I feel that this may create an environment that is more inviting to medical professionals, and for the involvement of research projects.

Well, I have to run for now, more later.

Happy Holidays to everyone!

Thank you so much for all of the work and effort you, Mike, and Dr. Hoch have expended to keep BT going.

I'm very curious about the specifics as to how you plan on reviving BT to return it to its previous glory. What changes are you making? What have you learned about what BT members need that you will incorporate into the revision of BT?

Wishing you happy, healthy holidays, David, with much gratitude.
