Rose thank you. YOu always have wonderful things to say and a wonderful way of saying them. Your message brings me back to the original reason I started blogging and reminds me to get back to that. I get distracted by other things that niggle my anxiety and forget or push those things to the side because my mind is all backed up. Then I become stuck. The meds do not help.

I'm so sorry for your pain, and I'm sending you healing prayers. More PT and massages are needed for certain.

You are making so much progress with cleaning out your home. I maintain that our home is a reflection of ourselves. If there is clutter, messes, unfinished chores, things waiting to be addressed, that's what is happening in our lives. So, when we begin to sort out that clutter, those messes and chores, and we begin to address what is piling up around us, we feel better.

That's when we have the strength and energy to address our own challenges, such as quitting smoking.

Keep cleaning up your house, and throwing away stuff you can no longer use or need. It makes you feel good, stronger, and organized. Be proud of yourself for every single goal you accomplish. Step back and look at the neatness, the organization, the fruits of your labor, and be proud of you.

This is how you build confidence and create an environment, which calms and comforts you.

Our home is a mess, and no one is allowed in the office, which I used to have so well organized. It reflects our life of pain, challenges, changes, crises, and chaos. But every day, I try to do whatever I'm able to eliminate just a fraction of that chaos, to help me cope with the rest.

This is what you're doing, and enlisting the assistance of your sons is ideal. It will be decluttering for all of you.

Stay the course, and you will succeed. I have faith in you, Chris. You're much stronger than you think you are.

    Love & Light,

It sounds as if your kitty will be going to a better situation for her? She may be upset about losing you but pretty soon she will settle into her new home and be enjoying more peace and quiet without the 3 cats and 2 dogs.

I've heard that many cats enjoy companionship of another animal, usually another cat, but I'm not so sure the more skittish ones do well with several animals around.

That's great that you have Christmas dinner in the larder and new wheels!

I wish you success in reducing your meds, as 14 sounds like way too many. I also wish you success in stopping smoking.

May your Christmas bring joy and lovely memories and the new year hope and healing.

    Love & Light,

Thank you both of you. I am giving pt a try though unfortunately the wonderful therapist I worked with last time is no longer there. I want to strengthen the trapezius, rhomboid and neck muscles. I know I need the help this time. I have to quit hunching my head down into my shoulders.
You're welcome. Maybe try out a few PTs until you feel comfortable with one in particular. Yes. Alignment is so important.

PTs are good at pain management in my experience, and I don't think it would make things worse with the right PT. So sorry your in pain.

I'm so sorry that you're in pain. PT is a good idea, as well as mindful meditation, consciously relaxing.

I hope your doctor will work with you to bring down your meds.

Sending healing energy your way ~

    Thank you agate.

Yes agate you got it. Being out among people is the most taxing. Even having people over is stressful those that aren't friends especially because my house is not in tip top shape. But dealing with people is hard because I have to smile and pretend I am okay. I have very few friends that would come over, like maybe two, the rest always want something and still I smile. Because even to my friends I am a sounding board for their problems. I listen, nod, commiserate, offer advice if asked and they move on. Online people is one of the worst. People are so abusive. I have to FB to try to stay involved in my rescuing and fostering and the backstabbing is incredible there alone. I rarely get visitors, using someone dropping something off LOL.

    Hi Chris,
Congratulations on your upcoming 20-year anniversary--I assume that's to be January 1?

I hope you don't mind a question about something you may have explained in a post I've missed. Does "peopling" mean dealing with people? I think of dealing with people as something that is often tiring too--and by people I mean real-life people far more than online people. "Peopling" must mean being out and circulating in places where people might be met, or dealing with people over the phone as well? Having visitors, even repair people--any people?

I remember when the pork industry was touting a certain pork cut as the new white meat. I haven't seen one of those commercials in a long time.

I always thought anything from a pig was red meat. Cow meat certainly is red meat.

What works for some doesn't always work for others. If you can taper off on smoking successfully, you won't need the patch. Or maybe you will need it, if the desire and withdrawals are too severe for you to tolerate.

Try to find something to reward yourself for cutting down on smoking. Punishing yourself generates a negative feeling, so if you can find something to make you feel proud of yourself, that might help your depression.

Maybe you could try visualizing your heart and blood pressure thanking you for not having that smoke. When you feel your heart beat, hear it saying, "Thanks Chris!" This may sound silly, but quitting anything means retraining your body and your mind to be grateful when you succeed.

Great news that the back injections are working. I suggest you continue to rest your back, and don't lift or strain doing any kind of yard work. Definitely use Jared's youth and strength, and let him do the work. It will be good for him too. It will teach him responsibility and the importance of taking care of his home and helping his mother.

Sending you strengthening and healing prayers. Stay strong! Be well!
